Overdraft Protection

Unanticipated events or unforeseen problems can occasionally leave you with too little cash in your checking account to cover your expenses. When life happens, we’ve got you covered.

Standard Overdraft Protection

Our standard overdraft protection links your checking account to your savings account. If your checking funds are not enough to cover your transaction, the funds are automatically transferred from your savings account for a nominal fee per transfer (Provided your savings account has the funds available). Maximum of six (6) transfers per month.

Member Privilege - Overdraft Courtesy Pay

When your checking account funds are not enough to cover your transaction, SUN Credit Union will pay the difference on your behalf for a per transaction fee. There are no additional costs associated with Member Privilege – Overdraft Courtesy Pay. Member Privilege is available to accounts in good standing, 90 days after account opening. Learn more.

Note: If you do not have sufficient funds in your account and/or you decline Member Privilege, we will refuse the payment for your transaction. A per-transaction fee will be charged to your account, along with any additional fees assessed by the other party.
