Qualifications for Membership

SUN Credit Union was originally started by the employees of the City of Hollywood. Chartered by the State of Florida in 1946 and is insured by the NCUA (National Credit Union Administration). As a not-for-profit financial cooperative we were organized to provide our members (people like you) with low-cost financial services (an alternative to the traditional profit hungry banks). We are governed by a volunteer board of directors who are elected by and from the membership. Membership to the Credit Union is restricted to employees of our field of membership (see below), and family of current members.

All profits of the Credit Union are returned to our members in the form of dividends, low cost loans and free services (not to stockholders like at a bank). We strive to meet the needs of our membership by providing free or low cost products and services that meet your expectations, higher savings rates and lower loan rates than you would typically find at a bank. We have received the BauerFinancial 5 Star Rating for more than 63 Consecutive Quarters, proving that we are good stewards of your money!

Membership is limited to the following:

• Employees of the City of Hollywood, Florida
• Greater Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, members, employees of member groups, Chamber Board of Directors, Chamber employees (in other words if the company you work for is a member of the Hollywood Chamber you can join us)
• Dania Beach Chamber of Commerce, members, employees of member groups, Chamber Board of Directors and Chamber employees. (in other words if the company you work for is a member of the Dania Beach Chamber you can join us)
• Real estate professionals in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, including real estate agents, developers, contractors, title companies, mortgage companies, general contractors and others that deal in real property and affiliated organizations of such persons/companies  and the employees of these organizations
• Employees of the Hollywood Economic Growth Corporation
• Employees of Data Management Associates providing services to the citizens of Hollywood, Florida
• Members of the Board of Directors of the Hollywood Housing Authority
• Employees of the Hollywood Housing Authority
• Employees of the Westin Diplomat Hollywood
• Family members of the above (a family member is defined as anyone related by blood, marriage or adoption)
• Any organizations of such employees, their organizations, affiliated organizations of such persons & employees of these organizations, and family members.
• Employees of SUN Credit Union

Our "Once a Member, Always a Member" policy means that once you or a family member joins the Credit Union, they are a member for life!
